The all weather surface and floodlighting means we are able to train all year round in almost all weather conditions. However, heavy, persistent rain will mean that training may be cancelled.

Training from September 2008
will be on Monday & Wednesday nights between 6.15pm and 7.45pm

Athletes should wear runners or spikes as well as shorts and t-shirt and tracksuit if possible. Colder, wetter weather will mean athletes should bring extra warm clothes and rain gear if possible.

We hold gym training sessions
for our older athletes on Thursdays, cost €2.

Cross Country sessions take place on Saturdays at varied venues

We sell running spikes at cost. Ask any of the coaches for details.

See Membership details for nightly cost and you must be a member to attend the training sessions.

We are always delighted to welcome new members, boys
and girls, once they are over 8 years of age.

The annual membership fee is currently €20 and this includes subscription towards the club insurance policy as well as registering the athlete with Athletics Ireland, the parent body of all athletic clubs in Ireland.

We currently charge €2 per training night and this goes towards rent of the WRSC and purchasing & replacement of club equipment on an ongoing basis.

We cater for all track and field events such as sprints, hurdles, middle distance, long distance, javelin, discus, hammer, long jump and high jump.

We also participate in local, county and national community games and encourage all athletes regardless of ability. We also welcome participation from parents to assist with the large numbers in attendance.

At present, we have over 150 registered juvenile athletes and 30 registered senior athletes.

A special word to all our coaches who give of their time voluntarily and to the many parents who drive athletes to the events we attend throughout Waterford, Munster and Nationwide!! You are all vital to the running and success of the club. Thanks!
