Kalyn Takes British AAA’s Under 17 Combined Events Title

Kalyn Sheehan , Ferrybank A.C., started 2006 in fine style winning the British under 17 combined events held in Sheffield last Saturday.

Kalyn led from the first event event when she recorded a big personal best of 8.86seconds in her speciality event the 60m hurdles. She followed this with a solid high jump of 1.55m before going to record her second personal best of the day, a shot putt throw of 9.28m. Her long jump of 5.10m allowed her to lead by the narrow margin of just 22 points going in to the last event the 800m. Kalyn won this event recording another personal best of 2mins 25 seconds to finish with a most impressive final score of 3429 points and the gold medal
