National Senior Club Relay
Record
Ferrybank athletes continued their
recent remakable run of success at the Dublin International in
Santry Stadium last saturday. Highlight of the day was the final
event which saw the club 4 X 100m relay team of Mairead Murphy,
Kelly Proper, Hayley Murphy and Niamh Whelan take on an Ireland
select team. The Ferrybank girls won the race easily defeating the
Irish team and in the process smashed the Irish senior club record
of 47.48s when they recorded a time of 46.93s.
Earlier, Kelly Proper once again showed
that she is in outstanding form when she improved on her Irsh junior
record recording a jump of 6.10m and won the competition. Niamh
Whelan contended with strong headwinds to take an excellent victory
in the 100m over more experienced senior international athletes and
later added the bronze in the 200m.
