Schools Track and Field Championships 30th May 2009
Ferrybank A.C. was very well represented at the
Irish Schools in Tullamore last weekend, with 18 athletes in all, qualifying
from Provincial level.
Ciara Giles-Doran gave an outstanding
performance, setting a new Long Jump record in the Junior category with a jump
of 5.53. Ciar went on to win the 200m in a time of 25.03, which is inside the
qualifying time for the European Youth Olympics. Ciara was chosen as the Junior
Girl Athlete of the whole competition.
Ferrybank athletes won 16 medals in total for
their respective schools:
