Kilmacow Open Sports, Sunday April 1st, 2002

The club had a large group of athletes at the Kilmacow A.C. Open Sports on Easter Monday. It proved to be a very
successful day with the club finishing second best club overall, just losing narrowly to Carrick on Suir for the overall trophy.

The relays were the most exciting with the girls u-12 team of Kitty Walsh, Beth Walsh, Ciara Cronin and Sophie Molloy,
the boys u-12 team of John Francis, Ciaran Donnelly, Robert Cunningham and Eoghan O'Neill, and the girls u-14 team of
Mairead Murphy, Kayln Sheehan, Hayley Murphy and Mairead Deevey, all winning their events.
The girls u-14 'b' team finished in 2nd place and the boys u-14 team finished in 3rd position.

In the u-9 events, Lorraine O'Callaghan finished 3rd as did Kenneth Mc Evoy in the 80 meters. Ciara Murray and Orlaith
Deevey were 2nd and 3rd in the 300 meters.

At u-11, Sophie Molloy finished second in the 80 meters and also 2nd in the 300 meters. Ben Cunningham was 2nd in the
boys 80 meters.

In the u-12 age group, Ciara Cronin was 3rd in the 80 meters and John Francis was 2nd in the 700 meters.

In the u-13 age group, Billy Ryan was 1st in the 80 meters, Gavin Kennedy won the long jump, Ciaran Donnelly was 2nd
and Jill Cunningham was 3rd in the 700 meters.

At u-14, Mairead Murphy, Kayln Sheehan and Hayley Murphy were 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the long jump. Killian Shanahan was
2nd in his shot putt.

At u-15 level, Eoin Beglin was 3rd in the 80 meters. Kelly Proper was 2nd in the 80 meters and 3rd in the shot. Mairead Murphy
was 2nd in that competition.

At u-16, Kelly Proper was 1st in the long jump and Sonia Kennedy won the u-17 shot.
