Ferrybank A.C. younger
athletes were in excellent form in Castleisland last week-end as
they contested the Munster Juvenile under 10 to 14
championships. They returned to Waterford with 5 gold, 7 silver and
5 bronze medals.
Ciara Giles Doran was in outstanding
form winning nthe under 13 hurdles with a championship best time and
also the long jump. She also won the bronze medal in the long jump
under 13. Ben Kiely was also in superb form winning the under 14
1500m and taking a pair of silver medals in the 800m and hurdles.
Jade Power was an easy winner of the under 14 discus and also won
bronze in the shot putt. The girls under 13 relay team of Ciara
Giles Doran, Ann O shea, Autumn Coady, Promise Owoeye and Kate
Daniels won the under 13 relay in fine style.
Sorcha Murphy had an excellent jump of
1.40m to win the silver medal in the under 14 high jump. Ann O Shea
was also in excellent form winning silver in the under 13 60m and
long jump. The under 10 boys team had an excellent day with Cormac
McCann and Eoin Bray winning silver medals in the 60m team
competition and Dylan Kearns and Tadhg Brennan winning bronze in the
300m team event. These four boys ran extremely well to win silver in
the 4 x 100m relay.
Becky Barr won a bronze medal in the
under1 4 javelin and bronze medals were also secured by the girls
under 14 relay.
