Munster Cross Country at Carrignavar, Co. Cork, Sunday November 11th 2001
Conditions for cross country running were excellent in Carrignavar and Ferrybank Athletic Club had four teams in action along with two individual runners.
The girls under 9 team were the stars of the day with the club team finishing second overall just three points behind the winners, St. Cronins of County Clare. Team members were Gillian Walsh, Sophie Molloy, Amy Brennan, Ciara Murray, Orlaith Deevy and Emily Hallissey. Well done to Gillian Walsh for her individual medal for an excellent ninth place. Gillian, Sophie, Amy and Ciara also won bronze medals with the Waterford team in the Inter-County section.
the boys under 9 team of Shane Quinn, Ben Cunningham, Stephen Kennedy, Thomas Barr, Niall Keller and Adam Deegan all ran well, as did the girls under 11 team of Robyn and Zoe Kinsella, Erica Walsh, Sinead Donnelly and Sarah Hennessy.
Well done to Erica on winning a silver medal with the Waterford County Team in the Inter-County secion.
The boys under 11 team all ran up to form. This team comprised of John Francis, Billy Ryan, Gavin Kennedy, Ciaran Donnelly, Robert Cunningham and Eoghan O'Neill. John and Billy ran very well to make the county team which finished third.
Eoin Beglin and Holly Deegan were our only representatives under 13 and Holly won her second individual munster medal this season finishing a fine 12th overall.
