The Munster Juvenile Indoor Championships for under 12 and under 13 plus the Combined Events Championships were held at Nenagh Indoor Stadium on Sunday 17th March 2002.

We had a large number of athletes competing and Mairead Murphy and Kelly Proper finished first and second respectively in
the girls under 15 pentathlon. Mairead's final score of 2,706 points was a new Championship Best Performance by nearly
400 points with Kelly also beating the old mark.

In the boys under 12 high jump, John Francis won the gold with a new championship record of 1.31m. Ciaran Donnelly finished
in third position jumping the same height as the silver medalist and Robert Cunningham was 4th.

The boys under 12 relay of John Francis, Ciaran Donnelly, Eoghan O'Neill and Robert Cunningham finished in 4th place
overall and were very unlucky not to claim medals.

The girls under 13 relay team of Erica Walsh, Sinead Donnelly, Zoe Kinsella and Jill Cunningham also finished in 4th place
after earlier winning their heat.

Zoe Kinsella finished an excellent 4th overall in the girls under 13 long jump and Billy Ryan ran well to finish 4th in the boys
under 13 60 meters.

With several others making finals, the athletes from Ferrybank A.C. gained valuable experience in what was a highly competitive
Munster Indoor Championships.
