At the All Ireland Senior

silver and two bronze medals. Once again Kelly Proper Ferrybank

Saturday she won the Long Jump for the fifth year in succession with a distance
of 6.35 metres which was some way below her record of 6.62 metres and another
up and coming Ferrybank athlete Nicola Power was
third with a personal best of 5.70 metres Then on Sunday Kelly had to call on
all her great competitive spirit to win the 200 metres final in 24.14 seconds
and she was pressed all the way by another Ferrybank
athlete Niamh Whelan who was literally inches behind in second spot. Earlier
Niamh set a personal best in the 60 metres semi final of 7.48 seconds and took
the bronze medal in the final in a time of 7.50 seconds, she was the holder of the title. Mairead

place on Saturday.. One of the performances of the week end came in the women's
3000 metres walk when Susanna Malikova, West
Waterford achieved the second fastest time in the world this year when winning
the event in 12 minutes 36.43 seconds and young Kate Veale also from West
Waterford was a fine third in 13minutes 18 .44 seconds after being in second
position for most of the race and she may have went off a little too fast early
on but will have benefited from the experience gained. In the men's 5000 metres
walk Jamie Costin West Waterford was third with a
very good performance in a time of 19 minutes 48.73 seconds just a second
behind the second athlete home..Other
